Touch screen problem

The bottom right side of the touch screen is really unresponsive and i have to really press in order for it to work... If the phone is put on charging it stops working altogether though the rest of the screen works perfectly.

Already tried reinstalling android didn't help.

Disappointed with Sony... The phone's been a mess since i bought it.

Same here! I had the phone for 2 weeks only.  Took it to the service centre and the said they need to repair it (NOT REPLACING it like other big brands would do for such new units).  Worse is that, they need a few weeks to order the parts!  Extremely disappointed!  Angry_Face

I'm sorry to hear. I suggest that you contact your local support team to get your phone examined and fixed at any of our repair centers.

I see this behavior with the ICS update. The screen was working perfectly before that. (Actually it had those well-known unresponsive touch screen issues but those went away after resetting the settings)

So I believe it has something to do with the update

If it is due to the update, it will not affect a part of the screen.  It should affect the whole screen.

Well it could be some invisible overlay that absorbs the touches. Who knows. I can just report what I observe

My Sola's two months old as well! It's already spent 2 weeks in the service centre for pcb replacement or something. Feels really weird to see Sony's build quality is so bad.

Also the speaker used for calling is of extremely low volume.

I noticed two things after ics update. Sometimes the touch event is triggered long before touching the screen. And the touch event at the bottom is very inresponsive. I have to push hard on the screen when I want to push a key at the left and right bottom. Wasn't great before but get real worse after the update.

Is it possible to recalibrate the touch screen?

edit:

The false triggered touch event mostly happens in the middle of the screen, iirc. It seems to me that this is a kind of calibration issue.

Had turnd glove mode off and now the real strange behaviours are gone. I guess I had a false glove detection.
