Hello everyone,
Until a few weeks i had been a happy Sony cutomer, but now I am doubting my decision to go with Sony due to reliabilty issues!
About 2 weeks ago the touchscreen of my phone started giving me problems. It has been failing to register touch. As a result 90% times i have to slide the unlock screen twice, because touch is not registered during the 1st time. The touch fails in every application as well on homescreen. Initially I thought that it was software issue (I was on latest gingerbread version). So today I upgraded to ICS. But still the problem remains the same, no change at all. recently I noticed this thread. So I tested my phone:
As can be seen there does not seem to be any problem with the touch. All are drawn in 1 continuous stroke!
I think the problem is with the pressure sensor. When I tried to perform the pressure sensor test, it said that this test is not available for my phone.
Any suggestion would be very helpful to me.
Sorry to hear about the problems with your phone.
If an update and/or repair didn't sort this thing out I'd recommend you to hand your phone in to one of our authorized service shops for a check and also fix.
The best way to proceed would be to contact your local Sony Mobile support and they can help you on further.

As told I submitted the phone last week to the service centre. Hoping that the problem is solved once & for all within a month.
The interesting thing that i noticed whilst at the service centre was that it was crowded by people with a myriad of issues. I went there in the evening & my number was 39! I could see most of the phones there, from tipo to P. That means that all the phones made by Sony are faulty & have no reliabilty at all. Even the service centre guy almost told me that even he was tired with so many problems everyday.
All those planning to buy an Android phone please stay away from Sony atleast, dunno about others. But i guess Nexus phones must be pretty reliable.
