Touch screen not responding

The go back symbol on my phone does not respond to touch, at all. This means I can only use the home symbol to get out of a screen/ page, but it takes me back to home, not just one step back. Then when I open for eg Facebook again, it takes me to the screen i tried to get out of!!  very frustrating!  What is the problem?  Can it be fixed?  My phone is only a year old. model no ST27i

I can only really suggest that you perform a software repair on the device, this will help clarify if this is hardware related or software related. Please use the instructions below.

To repair the phone software

1.     Install PC Companion on a Windows PC from Support 

2.     In PC Companion, under Support Zone and click Start. 

3.     Under Phone Software Update, click Start.

4.     Click repair phone.

5.     Follow the on-screen instructions.
