Touch screen issue can't write properly anymore etc..

Since today I have a problem with the touch screen.

It's just not recoginzing properly the placement of fingers on the screen.

This makes it a rail pain to write a message on the keyboard. For example I try to hit one letter and 2 or 3 will activate at the same time.

An other example would be in the Facebook app it's almost impossible to hit a like button.

There is no screen protection on the phone, nothing changed in usage / apps etc..

Tried the different kind of resets suggested in the Sony nothing helped.

Anyone with the same issue? Solution?

Never happened before, phone never went into the water etc..

Hi jamieb81,

Have you performed a touch screen test?

Menu > Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > tests > Touch screen test.

Let us know the result.

Yes I just did that, and it's not working properly.

The wiping just doesnt follows my finger like it should. especially upwards.

I cant wipe out the form shown properly

@jamieb81

Does your phone has a protective case and/or film? if it does, remove it > restart the phone > test it again, if it doesn't then you should contact your local Xperia care

That is unfortunate, this could be a software related issue, try performing a software repair on the device first.

Make sure to back up first

Here's how to run the repair on PC Companion:
1. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
2. Phone Software Update.
3. Start.
4. Repair Phone
5. Continue
6. Accept data removal
7. Next
8. Wait for prepare
9. Select Phone
10. Follow the connection steps

And Bridge for Mac:
1. Launch Bridge for MAC without the handset connected.
2. On the Main Window select "Xperia > Repair Xperia Device".
3. Ensure the phone is charged and select "Ok" in the following window.
4. Select Continue on the following page.
5. Wait until the initialising step is finished the continue as below.
6 . Select your model of phone from the list that appears
7. Follow the connection steps that appear, ensuring that you are holding the relevant button down before during and after the connection phase until the update/repair begins.

Let me know how this goes.

Ok,

so back with update, performed the repair with PC companion and didn't change anything.

I can't even slide an app from one home screen to an other.
