Touch screen click sound

The last couple of days, the volume of the "click" sound when touching the screen is no longer constant, but going up and down.

I have turned of the sound for now, as this really annoyed me.

But does anyone have an idea what is causing this?

Hi @StevenD,

Have you noticed this behaviour with sound in general or only with this click sound?

I would try @Phy's suggestion and see if this behaviour remains in safe mode

No, this issue is only with the touch clicking sound. All other sounds work fine, which makes me think is a software issue

rather than a hardware problem.

It started after doing a "reset  of all app settings", as suggested in this thread to solve another problem (which is still not fixed):

Anyway I'll try the safe mode, and let you know the result.

Hi, on safe mode this volume problem is not there.

Also, when I just start the phone the volume problem is not there.

I've been trying to figure out what might be causing this, and my best guess now is the SmartConnect app (if you ask me, the most buggy app on an Xperia phone).

I use SmartConnect to adjust volume settings etc, when connecting various speakers of headphone via BlueTooth.

Whenever SmartConnect has run an event, the ticking sound volume problem is back it seems.

Do you also notice any difference in the volume of the "click" if you change the Ring volume under Settings > Sound & notification?

No, changing the volume setting doesn't affect the click sound.

Could you give me an example of how one of your events in Smart Connect is set up?

On connect of my Bluetooth speaker:

1) Clearaudio+ -> on

2) BT audio connect -> to BT speaker

3) Volume settings -> media volume to max

On disconnect:

1) Volume settings -> media volume to 50%

The disconnect (end) events for BT devices do fail alot, meaning there are not being executed from time to time.

This never happens for wired devices.
