Touch Issue With Xperia U

I bought this piece in May (not to mention with the promise that Upgrade to ICS will be coming in first week of June - already discussed a lot I suppose), then I upgraded the firmware to the current one and Issues with the phone started to flow.

1. Loss of Network (still blaming my operator for this; though I am with same operator for last 8 years)

2. The vibrate on call-connect function does not work anymore (surprisingly Sony Service People doesn't even know of such thing's existance) couldn't even find the thing anywhere in settings

3. The recent and most annoying problem of all - Touch responce is experiencing laggs. As per my research, since touch-screen CMOS pannel is not dead for particular point (no consistancy with failure to understand the touch at any particular part of the screen), there must be some processing lag. To confirm the processing lag, I set my phone to a live wallpaper and attempted swipes of home screen -

- The transition of home screens is not subtle

- The swipe/touch fails to respond if there are successive attempts within 1 second

- Same problem occurs while typing with on-screen keyboard (both portrait and landscape)

On contacting the service centre regarding this issue they suggested f/w upgrade, since there's no such upgrade available at the moment, I tried repair phone option. After repairing my phone 3 times, I think I shall wait for ICS; since I am pretty sure, Sony will not claim any hw issue with this...

and if answered by Sony people, I swear I'll buy Xperia T instead of iPhone5 to show some gratitude...

I'm sorry to hear. I suggest that you await the ICS update which is being rolled out gradually right now and if these problem should remain it needs to be examined at an repair center. For more information on how to get your phone examined and fixed contact your local support team.

i am too having the same touch screen problem a part of touch screen doesnt work on 1 or 2 attempts...what should i do?

Fed up of repeated bugs delays issues and wat not with this device...regretting very badly that i bought this device..

I tried with local service centre..Again the same firmware upgrade answer...Had thought that ICS will finally fix tthis but no change even  after installing ICS...

Anybody smart  enough pls help..Android devices got  lot  of probs unlike apple's ios

Sony staff Jeff or Arnab or someone please look into this seriously...M running ICS itself ...even msg typing or dialling has become very tough..basic functionality is being compromised ..Leave apps and others...Touchscreen turns unresponsive at random points on screen and resumes with great lag....

Thanks a lot for info. I'll check with that. I am still pretty sure, the phone lacks the processing memory for Bravia Engine and resulting into touch response failure!

All right - here's more research and might be helpful to get phone into working condition but not fully flawless...

1. After turning off the Bravia Engine, touch response was much better

2. Additional response may be achieved by keeping the RAM free - try Advanced Task Killer app. Its free and widget works pretty well with one touch app killing

3. I've experienced that the problem occurs when free RAM drops below 150MB so even after using Advanced Task Killer widget, the free RAM is less than 170MB restart the phone.

4. I am using ICS already and f/w upgrade is no good as I am 100% sure that this is processing failure.

Friends, I know, I am not solving the buggs but it'll give you enough time to upgrade the device actually compatible with ICS (RAM 512MB or higher)

I had the same prblm of touch. its subtle n causes a lot of prblm in typing texts specially if you are a frequent typer. I too believe that its a processing issue and nothin worng with hardware. I had tried resetting factory settings.didnt work.formatted the phone. din work. bt sumhow after a week or so it got fine again..

Now again after around 4 mnths i am havinig same prblm since 2 days. any Android geeks,olz find a solution fr this.its very annoying.

bdw i am having ICS installed.still the same prblm.freed the RAM...still no luck.
