To Root? or Not to Root?

If I root my SP, does it still receive the updates? I know my warranty will be void but, I only want to move my apps to sd. Suggestions?

Unlocking the bootloader will delete your DRM keys for good, you can not restore them, even if you relock the bootloader, and kitkat its only a custom ROM not an official ROM, with that said, flashing a custom ROM has the advantage that you will have the latest Android version, but there are trade offs such as the camera quality isn't as great, etc etc
