Tmobile Xperia Z head phone with mircophone stoped working.

I was recently forced to upgade the sofware on my phone and now the Skull Candy head phones I have with a built in microphone stopped working.  It has worked flawelessly for the previous 4 months.  I used the headphones every day.  Now nothing.  I have reinstalled sofware using pcc.  I have checked my auxiliary computer speakers and they work fine (3.5mm jack has three contact surfaces).  My headphones with the built in mic has 4 contact areas and works fine in all my other devices as normal headphones.  Is this a bug inthe new software?  It worked fine just the other day.  Help.....

You could repair your phone with SUS or PCC

Also open the 3.5mm jack cover and look for a white rectangle, is it white or red/pink?

Update Service (SUS)

PC Companion (PCC)

Bridge (for Mac)

The microphone jack has not been in Water.  The tag is still white.  The system works fine with jacks that have only audio.  The Green Plug

The black jack on the bottom is for Skull Candy headphones with a built in Microphone.  The headphones work fine when plugged into my computer, or anything else.  They worked 20 minutes before I updated the software.  Then they stopped.  I had the same problem with my Samsung Galaxy S2, which is why I bought this phone (need the hands free option).  Now it is worthless.

Test your phone's hardware

You can also re-install the current firmware, have you try that?

Hardware is not the issue.  I tired a friends headphones and same thing.  They are not recogonized.

the hardware test function ap doesn't have anything to test headphone jack/microphone.

Firmware was re-installed twice

Still no luck.

You have to take it back to Tmobile and/or a Sony repair center
