Timestamp on SMS received

Unlike my previous smarthphone, actually unlike all mobile phones I have used, when I receive a SMS the Xperia Ray puts a timestamp when the message was received and not when the message was sent.

Since I swithch off the phone at night it can be very confusing and annoying when messages come in and are not put chronologically.

It can also happen when you have no coverage and when it takes time, sometimes hours before the message gets through.

Anyone knows how to fix this problem?

oh i see...

yes a very good question..

install pansi sms from the android market and see if it behaves like the stock messaging app or if it solves your problem Slightly_smiling_Face

you can change the mode also..like if you want inbox and sent messages in different folder..

just try it..

Thanks for the reply but it doesn't work either... Slightly_frowning_Face

I have checked the net and apparently I'm not the only one with the problem but there some fixes around.

Even think its Android 2.3.3 related.

My previous phone, HTC with Andoid 2.2 didn't have that problem while using the same carrier and SIM.

Is there already a fix on this SMS timestamp issue? I'm using an Xperia Ray, Android ver 2.3.4. I would also want to know the time when the SMS is sent to me, not when I receive them.

Hi, I have the same issue on the z1 compact. Even when checking the "message details", only the "received time" is available. It seems to be an Android issue, right?
