The software update failed. Phone does not start.

I received a notification that I have to do a software update and I selected to download it but then when it said "install" I

didn't have it connected to the PC so I received a message saying "The software update failed. Make sure that your phone is connected to a computer and try again". so after I conected it, it still just gives me that same error message and switches off. Does not even give me the option of updating on the PC companion app.

Try restarting both your PC and phone, then try the update process again.
