Text messaging on Sony Xperia X

When I get a text message on my lock screen it says contents hidden. I want to see the name of the person that's texts me with the message hidden. Also notifications for social media apps show on notification bar at top but I want if to say like the number of notifications on the actual app short cut like the number 1 in the corner! I need help!!

It's showing content but I only want to see who it's from not the message on the lock screen

Yeah, stuff like that needs custom launchers and possibly root
