text messages vanishing

Transferred all my data from my old phone to.my z1 compact and it's all on there but now when.I get a new text it shows in notifications and in my message previews But when I open the conversation they aren't there it only shows my old messages and not what iv received.on this phone...any ideas? Preferably without having to reset

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

With the information supplied, I can advise that this can be based on the date on the device, make sure the date is set correctly, otherwise the message will revert to that date and time specifically, this means you would need to scroll through all of your messages just to find it.

I'm having the same problem - and it's not caused by the date either, because I've checked that is correct. It's only happening with one person (who happens to be my girlfriend!!) who's messages don't appear in the conversation. She's using an Android phone as well, so it can't be iPhone incompatibility

Hi ultrarunner,

have you by chance tried removing her conversation and then testing to see if her messages now show?

This may be a direct issue with that conversation specifically.

same by me, Transfer text from HTC using Sony software (on Mac). had same issue, can see notification of new text show up but when i open text app it didn't show up.

and unlucky it also from my WIFE text, I deleted all her message and strart fresh so far no problem. But i lost the previous history (which worth of 5 years of text - have backup somewhere).

Sony, pls fix this.

Also having the same problem & its very frustrating. My date is fine and deleting the conversation (which I shouldn't have to do!) makes no difference.

Am also able to see the notification and preview of the text in the conversation list, but when I open the conversation, nothing. 

Being able to read a text message should not be a difficult task. I've just moved from an iPhone to Android & more specifically, Sony and this is not instilling me with confidence. A £450 phone is not much use to me if I can't even open my messages.
