Text messages not showing on Arc S

My gf has had her xperia arc s for approx 18mths and all of a sudden it has stopped showing her txt messages. She recieves a notification tone and the message appears in the notification area, but when she goes into messaging, the messages are not there. It still shows txt's from yesterday though.

Any ideas?

Try clearing the data for Messaging app:

Settings->Apps->All->Messaging->Clear data/cache.

Heads up though, old messages will be deleted.

If that doesn't help then you should try repairing the phone via Sony Update Service:

Also check that the date is correct set in the phone. The phone sorts all of the text messages after the the time and date, it shows the latest received or sent SMS in the bottom of the conversation.

If the date for some reason have been reset to an earlier date the text message will appear higher up in the conversation, making it seems like that the message is not shown.
