anyone know why I can not read or send messages?

if sending a message bounces me a " unfortunately messages has stopped"

Perhaps an intrusive app, do you have taskillers, antivirus, etc?

Things to try

1. Settings > apps > all > messaging > clear data > restart the phone > check again

2. Boot on safe mode
