Sync problems duplicate contacts

I have been having problems with Sync and my Contacts. After switching on Sync to update my contacts for All and Only telephone/mobile numbers from Facebook,Whatsapp etc to appear in my Contacts duplicates have been created 'several for each person in my contact list'. Even duplicates of numbers that are not from Sync updates Facebook/Whatsapp etc.

I don't know what to do???

Also I tried using Filter in Contacts Menu to only show telephone numbers for each person in my Contacts list.

have you back up your contacts on sim card, internal storage or sd card? if yes delete all the contacts and import it back.
