how to reduce the links on a metal bracelet-sorry about my english
check this video, it's pretty easy actually, i removed two links from mine
where he uses a paperclip, i used a watchmaker screwdriver and a small rubber hammer, same rubber hammer can be used when reinserting the pins to tap the last bit in
make sure you put a towel or something underneath
no, just need to push out the pins, take out the link(s) you want and put it back together in reverse order
If anyone has directions or a link to a manual indicating that I need to take a hammer to my bran new product please provide a link because I just got off the phone with customer service and was told that it is not adjustable.
Me: "Sony just released a stainless steel banded watch in a one size fits all configuration?"
Response "Yes"
Me: "Are you sure because this seems like such an oversight that I don't believe you... Are you serious?"
Response "Yes"
Me: "Really?"
Response "Yes"
Me: "So if this doesn't fit I need to return it for a band that isn't one size fits all?"
Response "Did you buy it online?"
Me: "Yes"
...ancilory details...
Response: "That is a different depart to handle that would you like to be transfered?"
Me: "yes"
and I got disconnected... The first time I have ever had a bad experience with a Sony product in over 25 years but I am stunned... absolutely stunned that Sony would sell a steel banded watch that isn't easily adjustable and requires a hammer to adjust. I don't believe it.... Like I said I am entirely stunned.
it IS adjustable, i took out two links, mine was too big as well
you dont need to use a hammer, a screwdriver with rubber handle works as well
and something pointy, like a watchmaker screwdriver
The band is a standard adjustable type - if you look on the underside you will see tiny arrows on several links on each side of the central clip. These arrows tell you which way to PUSH OUT the pin in that particular link.
Most watch sellers will have a tool to adjust band lengths, or you can find something pointy, slightly less in diameter than the pin in the link, flatten the end, and then push hard in the direction of the arrow - you may need some force to start the pin moving, then it will pull out easily.
On re-assembly make sure pin goes back in the way it came out ! One end of the pin is split, the other end is not.
Has anyone figured this out yet. I've tried a dozen or so pins and clips and haven't seen any of the watch pins budge at all. I've scratched the pins and the strap. I find this product really annoying already. I knew I should have spent a little more for a Samsung.
You can only shift pins out of links which have an arrow on the back - generally only the first three or four links - and not just any link on the band.
You need to push at the plain end of the pin, the other end will have a split end, which helps it stay in the hole. Some pins do need quite a push - I just tap the pointed thing I'm using to push out the pin with a small hammer - a short sharp tap usually dislodges the pin enough to pull it out by the split end.
Or find a watchmaker who will know how to do it, and have a tool to make pin removal easy.
