SW2 apps - going running

Hi 

I was wondering if someone could help me. 

I have a SW2 thinking I could go running with my watch and not have to carry my phone with me as it is heavy and bulky. However the running app does not work unless connected to me phone...?? does that mean I have to take the watch and the phone running with and whats the point in the watch if I only have to carry the phone with me?

Please help.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

SW2 is not meant to work as a standalone device. SW2 allows you to see information from the phone and control the phone but the app itself is running in the phone and uses sensors in the phone so you need to bring it.
