Stock messaging app character count

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there was a way to disable the limit of characters in a text message using the Xperia messaging app. Whenever I go over a certain number of characters, the app splits my text message into 2 or 3 SMS. So the person I'm sending it to receives 2 or 3 SMS instead of one. I had the same issue on my iPhone years ago, but Apple fixed it, so I can send super long SMS. Is there a way to fix this on my Z3?

This is normally governed by your network provider and how many characters they allow you to send in one message

Of course,special characters will be counted as more.

I don't think this is true in my case. I haven't changed carriers going from my iPhone 5 to my Z3. I could send massive text messages with the iPhone

I do not know how the Iphone stands here,but I am pretty sure on all Xperias I have had that special characters will take up more from a message.

You can use messenger classic.Just download it from playstore.

I use the  to count the number of words and character in a given text. It has many features and works like a charm.

@Thommo special characters take up 70 spaces for me.
