(I know there are more posts to this issue, all getting unresolved. I am hoping a new thread will get more attention. )
I did the repair/factory reset, without setting anything, with tweaking the parameters. Tried also to mute the mic.
I tried:
Issue:
Anybody has any solutions or a handset that he can confirm not having those issue?
Thanks
Ah, some ppl can't hear it or notice it. Doesn't mean it's not there. Do you by chance have a younger son, colleague that you could test it with? Also as I said the safe bet are the service menu tests the ones from dialer *#*#73.... everybody can hear it there. Please do test the Microphone, secondary microphone, earphone and stereo speaker. The quality will be bad.
Microphone, Secondary Microphone will sound bad, crackling buzzing, hissing. I tested this in a bathroom, with no lights.
Earphone, there will be the static noise, hissing.
Stereo Speaker, when one channel is playing the other one is hissing.
Also a quiet environment would be best.
In the phone call , as said best to have a quiet environment. Just noting we are speaking about hte speaker, earphone, not a headset.
Also while the other party speaks, the hissing is supressed, either by the voice itself, or by sw. Listen to the quiet parts please.
Also I heard there is already 2 versions of Lollipop floating around? I am on 23.1.A.726. Could some other version fix this?
Heard something that the new has a new baseband etc. N/A yet for me.
Do not put it away as, that is normal, because I can assure you, I have had my fair share of different devices, currently I own LG G2, iPhone 4, 5S and an old Nokia, and my hearing is very good, this is not normal.
Be a hero :). If you help with this, and you will be around Slovakia, will invite you for lunch!
Thank you again for the help!
PS: The other alternative is that different ppl from different countries, ALL have a bad device? And as I said I tested also quite few. We specifically have a Network provider branded one, the others I tested were from normal stores.
Quality control would be really bad... different batches, repairs, all for nothing?
As I said, I have 4 devices that I can bring to Local Support with this issue. I do not think they would be amused. And I will test next week more devices.
Thanks for the invite but i assure you that there's no noise in the phones i tested, i have excellent hearing
But there are many of us here using this phone and noise in Z3 Compact is not something we've been getting complaints about.
It's very strange that you found this issue in several units but in order for us to investigate it and find what's causing it we need to investigate it at a service location.
You can't say, you are not getting complaints about this...
And no offense to your hearing. It doesn't mean yours is good tthat you can hear everything, or notice it ;).
But I do wanna believe there are impecable phones out there. I will try to do what you told me. Submit all the devices I find to the support and will advice the firm I work at to do the same.
But as said, do not say you are not getting complaints. These forums and others are full of this complaints.
Just from this forums excluding my thread:
Z3 Compact:

Other Xperia lines:

and countless more ....
And there is forums over at XDA, and even pages suggesting not working "fixes" that are not working.
If needed I can list here more forums from Android Pages, XDA etc.
With ppl that actually got an exchange with the same bug, or with a repair with the same bug. You can check them in the threads I gave you.
Please really do not wipe this under a rug. As nobody got some good results with the support and I do not wanna go through the whole charade.
I have of course heard of some cases before about noise but i mean in relation to the number of users we have. It's not a general issue with Z3 Compact.
I also suspect that some reports you've found about noise is a different issue that will only be heard during calls: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z3-Z3-Dual/xperia-Z3-and-Z3c-Distorted-Voice-Calls-When-Connect...
We do of course want to fix the issue you have but as it's not a known issue and we can't find any issue here, your phone needs to be sent to a service location for investigation.
Greetings from Poland! The same problem here - apparently there are many of us. At first I was in love with my brand new shiny Xperia Z3 Compact, as it seemed to be high-end, smart and reliable. However, I quite quickly noticed that annoying static buzz from the earphone during calls and playing sounds, which is totally unacceptable for any phone nowadays, especially in this class. When I sent it to the repair centre, they returned it in a week saying that there was nothing to fix, so they only updated firmware and performed the factory reset, even though I had told them it didn't help when I had tried it (+ as a 'gift' they put simlock on my phone, **bleep**). When I immediately sent it back to them, angrily called the tech support several times and issued a complaint to the hedquarters in Warsaw, they eventually decided to replace my phone and today I've got a new one - with the very same issue. So it is apparent that Sony has basically produced a whole series of defective mobiles and they can neither solve it, nor admit it. The only thing I can do now is to get my money back from the shop I bought it and warn everybody I can about this issue.

Hi Rickard, so I brought my phone to repairs. They exchanged the motherboard.
Anyway new MB seems to me more like a complete new phone. Even my scratches are gone on the outer shell.
To my surprise, the noise is still there...
Well not surprise. As said, I did not find any Z3c without the issue, old , repaired, unsold, in shops, colleagues and I checked plenty...
I only found people that can't/won't hear it (hearing set up differently, faulty) or simply ignore it, or taking it as a "Feature".
@@Rickard can you please advise me what to do next? I followed your advice, which like countless ppl before me, did not help.
This is exactly how Sony "Support" works - they just ignore you and hope that you will either give up or forget. When I wrote to them telling that the replaced phone also had this issue, they basically ignored me and didn't reply anything at all. I will never buy any Sony product again and I will warn my friends to stay away from this company.
