Hi I have a problem i want the LED notification too if i have activated the stamina mode
how can i make it ?
the LED notification when you receive sms/mms or what type of notifications?
The current stamina mode will also disable the LED. We have forwarded this as feedback but currently you will need to disable stamina if you want LED notifications.
I've noticed this too, as have many other users. Hopefully it will be addressed in future updates because it's a rather nice future to have.
So let me get this straight... New, out-of-box ZL phone - A power hungry phone, under powered battery (relative to other devices), LTE radio and HD screen. By necessity requires the savily marketed "STAMINA MODE" in hope of one day's use... Can't get back the lost night of my life re-setting phone, reinstalling apps without "auto-restore" feature because a documented "fix" is an epic fail.
Never mind, have turned off Stamina and LED flashes when I receive "Notifications".
LED notification flash - an otherwise basic, fundamental 101 feature of cellphone functionality wasn't seen as relevant to add/remove in Stamina Mode before shipping?
Geesh, guess I'm putting the SIM back in the S3 and waiting 2-3 months for an update to my brand new Sony phone! It's not fully working "as advertised" or like any other current/upcoming phone on the market. A year old S3 flashes when text, email or voicemail with different colours and enjoys good battery life! Meanwhile - Beautiful black monolithic slab of elegance called ZL goes dead in a day off Stamina!
i don't use stamina mode - I can turn wifi BT and data on and of as I need them - no biggy, my wifi is on constant and accounts for about 5% of normal usage
all leds working email sms calls etc - I suspect your will too
power consumtion on this phone is pretty good - charge cycles for 2 weeks
mine will usually last 2+ days depending on usage - normal usage being calls - sms email - taking a few snaps a little internet etc - listening to music not sure as I haven't tried it
stuff that will kill the battery fast - GPS - HiEnd games (2hours max) - watching HD video (5hrs max) nothing new here - same on any hi end device
take everything you read here with a pinch of salt - some people are confused - installed apps that wrecked their device - don't understand how some stuff works even after it's been explained over and over
the are reported bugs that are being addressed - wifi dropping connection - camera compressing photos too much - camaera/screen colour saturation -
people reporting stamina isn't working because they don't understand what it does - less now cos the penny has dropped
loverly phone - I'm blown away
search the net - there has been no electronic device on any market that hasn't had a few bugs when newly released - the trick is for the vedor to fix them properly
Thanks, have been using cellphones and Android phones since they where first released and a few Sony's.
LTE C6506 variant requires STAMINA. Sony touts "Stamnia" while eveyone like HTC or Samsung just call it power save/convervation (Difference is theirs works). Don't play games, don't watch 5 hours of video, don't use Bluetooth, NFC unless at home and GPS isoff unless travelling or checking things out. Battery usage lists screen at whopping 49%. Next highest process is 9% and everything else below that.
Use goes like this: Powered on most of the time, except sleep and charge overnight. WiFi only on "at-home" or in locale with free WiFi. Fully charged leaving home with 100% battery. Usage - Data streaming with Tuned In Radio (Data apps I use added to Stamina list), reading ebook, newspapers/news (data). More often Walkman. 90+ minutes daily represent "highest" and most varied usage. Random checks of Messages and Social Media through day.
Being in Canada, crappy data signal most of time, 3-4 bars voice (Geography and cheapness of carriers). Working in office tower is impediment to radios so again, need and merits of Stamina required - THIS WAS MARKETED AS A FEATURE!
No Stamina with no charge by end of workday 32% and notifications! Sitting here now - low battery warning under 14%.
So again - end of day with no charge....
Without Stamina just dropped again at 12% and warning to enable Power Save. Freaking comical!
Last night
With Stamina 42% and that was with voice calls.
The S3 - shows eye on screen, if no action, off goes phone. Any, I mean any inbound messages a bright light at top flashes - also plays assigned audio for message type unless in silent mode and simply works, almost full power, no charge on 1 year old battery.
Expect "bugs" on new device but the epic scale of this failure overshadows ANYTHING on my S3 or previous HTC. Sony is the worst at a) acknowledging "problems" and b) fixing or updating them.
This "non feature" is well documented on the XDA forum and here. It is hit/miss depending on region/build. Let's not forget the well documented security bypass which renders Z/ZL screen lock secuirty useless 😉
well you sound like you know everything - so hard to reply from my humble perspective
you've heard of battery conditioning
screen at a whopping 49% - mine was 90% when I first got the phone and I was lucky to get 5hrs out of a full charge - I now easily get 2 days
but you seem to have everything in "hand" so I'll leave you to it
Everything "in-hand" as it requires Sony fixing the issue
That may be like moving a mountain!
Simple - enable Notification Lights in Stamina Mode. Getting one day use in mid-sized Canadian city is a treat but requires Stamina. Unlike, Europe, Asia or US with high saturation of signals where I could easily go two days because radio isn't laboring to pull data/voice signals let alone running 1080pi %" screen. Do not even get a day on Non-Stamina mode just so I can see LED's?
Honestly, bad move by Sony - 21st century communication device and providing a light only if you turn off STMAINA seems ridculous esp. since HTC/Samsung can manage power consumption (Stamina like) and still say you've got mail without unlocking the screen.
