I turned on Stamina Mode, without whitelisting Chrome, however, Chrome is still sending me notifications. Is this some loophole from Stamina Mode that Chrome manages to exploit? Or are some apps actually whitelisted by default?
Stamina needs about 15 minutes until it kicks in. Did you get notifications even later than 15 minutes?
Yeah, after like 2 hours in fact. Lately Chrome/Facebook have this notification feature where I don't need the Facebook app, and the Facebook page is able to notify me via chrome of any updates.
Trying now with Chrome disabled and installing the Chrome Beta.
Is the Stamina mode applicable to all apps? Or only all non-system apps?
Stamina should override all apps that use an internet connection as far as I know. Contact Local support and request more info.
@ykphuah Do you have the charger connected when this occurs? There might be an app that prevents stamina from kicking in.
Local support is useless over here... just a bunch of sales guys.
Nope, I do not have the charger connected when this happens.
After I disabled the built in Chrome and installed Chrome Beta, this doesn't happen anymore. It seems what I expected is accurate, Stamina Mode is only able to blacklist installed apps. For example, auto-sync is not affected by Stamina Mode.
Glad to hear that you were able to solve it using Chrome Beta
I'm afraid i'm not sure why you are seeing this when using the preinstalled version of Chrome. Stamina also works for the preinstalled apps and not only downloaded apps. When i test this here in M5, i don't get any push notifications from for example Gmail with Stamina enabled.
As it works with the beta of Chrome it should not be this but make sure extended standby is enabled under the stamina settings. If you have added any apps under "Apps active in standby" there, also try removing them and see if that helps.
