Squeaky Z1 Compacts?

Hello, I've been struggling with a squeaky / creaky chassi or backplate for a while now. I've been replacing this device 2 times already, and I've been having the issue on all of the devices and I feel like there is some serious construction flaw as all of these devices are of different batches and manufacturing dates.

The squeaky noise occurs when pressing at the top left corner around the edges, and when pressign at the lower right corner. The issue occurs mostly where the h/w buttons are located, and around the MicroUSB port.

I would like to know if anyone else is having these kinds of issues as it's very annoying and I'm quite sure that the device ain't waterproof at this state.

Hi,

You are not the 1st one who have this, there is several topics about such issue. One on this forum, and at least two on xda developers forum (as far as i remember). You can easily search them out.

Personally I had 3 different z1c in my hands for a few days/ weeks (replacements: vibrations issue, not proper shape of aluminium port covers, and squeaky sound while pressing the phone). I must admit that unfortunatly every one of them had this craclking sound, the difference was the loudness. First phone had the worst sqeaky sound.

I'm sorry my friend but this is feature of Sony's produkt. Generally bad quality check after production process. I'm personally done with products of Sony Corporation, especially becouse in my country Sony's warranty service has an opinion of "cheating service" ( i have heard and read about this, also my friends told my that several times). Thats why I have made several changes my self (I'm an engineer in electronics), and i dont care about warranty that  in probably gives me nothing.

Well, when pressing around the micoSD area I can see that the whole motherboard of the phone is moving due to that my SDCard moves when I press down on the back of the phone. This is a serious manufacturing fault, and this is my 3rd faulty unit.

I got this problem at the sim slot and sd card slot.

Did you get a replacement device without problems? because I think my shop will tell my that it is my fault (I got a few small scratches at the corners) and they will probably not replace it.

Without your post, I wouldn't have even noticed that my Z1 Compact squeaks when pressed around the cover flaps. I don't want to have a phone that's motherboard can get bent just by pressing the back.. Did you return them on warranty or on the 14 day trial period?

However, I had my phone submerged in water several times with no damage so far.

mine's so squeaky that the plastic bezel on the front is actively coming away from the metal frame. >.>

Same here. This does not seem to bother me...

Coul also be the o-rings that seal it. It sould have some room to expend. It's rated to -1.5 m and there is a bit of pressure.
