The screen of my sony xperia compact Z3 recently broke without any trauma. The product guarantee did not cover the damage and I had to pay for the reparation.

I'm sorry to hear that but the screen can't crack on it's own, post a picture of the cracked screen I'm almost certain that we can pinpoint the point of impact.
