Sound System not functioning well after a call

I am using Xperia Tipo Single (ST21i) with the android version of 4.0.4 (default). I have been having this issue for some time. My speaker is working fine, but sometimes when I engage in a call, either using phone call or internet call,  then when I disengage the call my speaker does not working properly. It is still in the calling mode so all my sound alert will be just beep and when I adjust my volume, it ajust the volume of the call instead (with the symbol of a phone) I cant listen to any music and I believe the rear speaker is not working at this time. Just the top speaker is working. However this problem will be solve after I shut down my phone then up it again. This could be troublesome as when you are busy and this happen then you need to spend that time to restart your phone. Any solution to this problem?

Sounds like the call is not ending. Are you sure the call is still not active? If you have pressed the home button during a call the you need to slide down the notification field, tap the call and then end it.

If that's not the problem i recommend that you first try uninstalling any 3:rd party dialers or VoIP apps you may have and see if that helps.
