I am having problems with the sound in my Xperia Sola. The speaker does not work, nor microphone, and the camera app sometimes it also fails. Applications using microphone or speakers do not run properly, after start and audio app android raises a popup offering to close it because it is not responding.
I restored the phone to factory settings, the problem persisted. Also I flashed two different stock ROMs, the current one is 6.0.B.3.184, but the problem still persist. Any ideas?
Here are some errors and warning in log when I play a mp3 or any sound file or movie (log by Android System Info application):

but I can hear some noise, like a wisper, closing my ear to the speaker. Please help!
The Sony Support Center told me via chat that I have to send the phone to Taiwan in order to repair or exchange it, because the phone's imei belongs to that region. What up with Sony? I bought the phone in the USA and the warranty is valid only in the USA. Why they say I have to contact the support center of TAIWAN???
They want to get rid of you, in the future happy shopping of sony smartphones
If they refuse to repair your phone then the only solution is -> garbage.
Sorry to hear this.
I agree that this phone should be handed it at a service center.
If you're phone turns up as a Taiwan unit you should talk to the dealer where you bought the phone and ask them about this.
PM me your IMEI number and I will see if I can confirm what the Support Center said.

The vendor is HassleFreeCell, I bought the phone vía Amazon.com and they shipped it to a hotel in the United States where I was last June. I contacted the vendor and he derived me to the support center of Argentina, where I reside. But the support center of Sony in Argentina does not recognize the warranty.
I followed these ways: Sony Support Center of USA --> HassleFreeCell vía Amazon (Vendor) --> Sony Suppor Center of Argentina --> HassleFreeCell ---> Sony Support Center of Argentina, the last one told me to take the phone to a repair center in Argentina, but I have to pay for the repair.
EDIT: Sorry, I don't know how to send you a PM, the option is not available (your mail appears as private) in yor avatar.
I checked your IMEI number and this is indeed a Taiwan handset. It was in other words manufactured for, and originally delivered to Taiwan.
We do not offer world wide warranty and a phone meant to be sold and used in Asia will not have valid warranty in USA or Argentina. You will have warranty in Taiwan but I do fully understand it's not a convenient way to go.
I read the terms and conditions on Hassle Free Cell's website and it says the following about warranty:
"3) Your receipt is good for all manufacturers’ warranties (when applicable)"
The best thing you can do here is to either get Hassle Free Cell to help you or to pay for the repair (unless you want to send it to Taiwan of course).

I bought the smartphone in the United States. I could not check the IMEI before buy it. Even if I could have done it I had not realized that the handset was for the Taiwanese market. Please, tell us how to do it so potential buyers of Sony smartphones so they are warned!
Samsung offers world wide warranty, I realize now of my wrong choice

Hassle Free Cell said me I have to contact the support center of Sony in Argentina, twice, and I did. But they say the will not repair the phone, also twice. I think this is the best solution for me.
I am very disapointed with Sony
I think the problem here lies with the dealer not informing you that the phone is imported and will not have valid warranty in USA or Argentina.
We at Sony Mobile can unfortunately not control if the stores all over the world choose to buy their phones from foreign distributors instead of domestic ones.
I'm not sure what the local consumer law says about this. If the store did not inform you about the origin of this phone I would suggest you contact the Federal Trade Commission (USA, since this was where you bought the phone) and just ask them about this. http://www.ftc.gov/
I guess where Hassle Free Cell are registered will have meaning too.
I should mention though that a phone bought in USA will not have warranty in Argentina, so even if this was an American phone, the warranty would not be valid in Argentina anyway.

Best would be if Sony offer world wide warranty. Then these kind of problems would be solved quickly and with high customer satisfaction. Is not that "Customer Care"? Todays it is common for people working in medium to large companies to travel around the world because of work: two weeks in the USA, one moth in Mexico, another three weeks in Romania, two months in Italy... sometimes returning to their home countries for a week only. Then, Where do they have to buy a "prone to failure" Sony smartphone in this situation?
I do not care where the problem lies, even if the seller is the main responsabile. I did not buy the phone because of Hassle Free Cell. I care that I bought the handset because it was a Sony smartphone, and I expected it would be better than older Sony-Ericsson I had before. I am just very disapointed with this situation, the phone worked well just two weeks! I am sure that Sony can help me to fix it easyly.
