Sony Z5 BootLoop

Sony Z5 BootLoop

water damage.

I got a new screen module, a new battery, same ish though.

So if I plug it into the wall, or a portable battery charger, it starts to load, red charging LED comes on, and the screen comes on with SONY and then it shuts off and does it again. It's about a 2-3 second loop continuous.

If I plug it into my computer, the red led will either flash once and nothing happens, just one flash.. then another flash etc
or it will flash three times and again nothing happens, it just does that repetitively.

I can't seem to boot into safe mode. Even with PC Companion. I have tried pressing the OFF switch next to SIM and SD slot. Which both are empty.

Turning to you, Any ideas?

@AfroDiety you mention water damage.....did you have it repaired at an authorised Service Centre

No, there are none around my area, and they will not honor my warranty. It's a Z5 Dual. Hong Kong. North America won't Honor it. Hong Kong won't either.

@AfroDiety who fitted the new components, perhaps the water has damaged more within the phone than what has been replaced......you could try a Software Repair...http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/How-to-perform-a-software-repair-with-Xperia-Companion/m-p/1103057

I fitted the parts. $10 for a toolkit, plus plenty of guides on repairing devices online. I did it slowly and surely. It's true, maybe it's a different part that is causing this issue.

In the repair guide, I cannot get past step 5, which is where the device is to be detected by the software.

@AfroDiety have you tried holding in the power button & volume up button for approx 10 seconds & letting it charge for a while from a wall socket Thinking_Face

Neither of these two methods seem to produce any results

If red led apper that's mean that the battery is at 0%-15% and will not let You to flash firmware, and if You connect musb cable to phone without connected battery it will just bootloop so the problem is with connector of battery or battery itself or power management chipset on the mainboard.

What happens when You connect charger without pressing power button?
