Sony Z1 compact not turning on. possible self reset.

I've had my Sony Z1 compact for about six months and has worked fine up until now.

I have tried to turn the phone on today, but it failed to do so.   Thus, I assumed it needed to be charged.   However, when connected the charger the red light is not constant as per normal charging it is flashing.   The phone also vibrates.

Having looked at other posts if the off button is held for five to ten seconds this resets the phone and it vibrates three times.   My phone appears to be continuously resetting itself every five seconds.   The phone vibrates three times and then stops for five seconds then vibrates again three times.   This occurs repeatedly all the time whilst on charge.   As the phone appears to be continuously resetting itself it is not possible to turn the phone on.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem and managed to find a way of fixing it?   Alternatively I have taken out insurance, so can send the phone back to Sony, but wished to enquire first.

Thanks.

Ben

If your phone starts but doesn't boot, try to go in bootloader mode and reinstall the software. In PC Companion press reset phone, follow the steps and it will show you exactly what button you have to press and to connect the USB cable to do so.
I hope this is a software issue and the fix will help you. If this doesn't work either, you need to go to a service centre to get it fixed.

Please, where do I get bootloader mode? Do I need to plug my phone with PC before I can repair it?
Thanks
