Sony Z touch screen issues

On my Sony Z the upper part on the touch screen suddenly stopped working last week. I've tested it through the Service Menu, and can verify that the touch screen does not take input at the upper level (see photo), about 1,5 cm. 

Is this a hardware fault, or can it be fixed some other way? It's very annoying to not get hold of the status bar and all that..

I suggest that you try to reinstall the phone software using Update Service..

If the issue should still remain I think that this needs to be examined and fixed at a repair center. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, contact your local support team.
