Dear All,
I tried to test the water resistance of my Xperia Z3 dual by submerging it to tap water in a shallow container (just enough for phone to go under). All the port covers are sealed off. After 5 minutes, I removed it and wiped it off with a piece of cloth. It was working properly and I was glad.
But when I played music, I noticed that the top speaker was the only one working. The bottom speaker was not. Moreover, when I tried calling the phone, both speakers were not working, instead, the ringtone was only coming from the ear speaker (top speaker, can only heard if near the ear). I also tried to call using the phone, rings can be heard by ear speaker but if you tap on the loud speaker icon, the ear speaker turns off and no sound comes out totally.
I submerged my phone exactly 48 hours (2 days) ago. I also put it inside a jar of rice for 12 hours... as per community blogs.
But until this time, the problem is still the same.
Any input will be helpful and will be appreicated.
Thanks to you all.
Thanks for the first comments and recommendations... Will try it....
i am having the same problem...
tried to blow the phone with hair drier.. bottom speaker still does not work..
is it normal that we need to wait more than 48 hours for the speaker membran to dry?
Update:
Its on the 3rd day.... The phone is already subjected to dry environment. Put it beside laptop exhaust fan area to dry out. Blew air in the speakers.... Still the same condition/problem....
Is it really that long to dry out?.... I am going impatient but I am trying my best to wait more...
Dear Sony Team, any comment?....
Well, i have no idea what is causing this problem. It normally takes upto 3 hours to fully dry unless it was longer than 30 minutes in water then you might wait 1 full day like my tablet...
But for 5-10 minutes i dont know why is it taking so long.
The hair dryer wasn't a good idea.
If Ifs really so bad then this is what i would do
Soo everything again from the beginning
Blow the speakers
Put it next to the laptops air blow and turn on a game or something so the laptop will start heating and more heat will come out.
While having it next to the laptop plug the phone to the charger and play a game put the screen on maximum light and leave it next to the laptop
It will cause a lot of heat. Wait about 15 or 20 mins also while doing that turn off ur sound fully
After 20 mins turn off the device and turn it on. Play music
If Nothing works then only 1 thing left. Vacuum the speakers gently with the lowest power of the vacuum cleaner. Good luck mate
Thanks... will try.... keep you updated soon....
