Sony Xperia Z2 problem

Hello, so I just received my Sony Xperia Z2. I noticed that the phone was heating, but I'm not quite sure if it's actually overheating. I'm guessing that it's normal. However, there is some sort of smell that seems to be like burning. I was wondering if that was also normal or if that also happens to any others users.

Thank you! Slightly_smiling_Face

Does it overheats during gaming/internet surfing etc? Or does it overheats when you just let it all alone? Can you touch it when hot?

Can you try install a temperature app and see whats the highest temperature recorded?

It might be a software related or hardware related problem but it depends.

Yeah, I know the over-heating is something normal on the Z2, but I don't if the smell is :S
I'll try to download the temperature app, and I'll come back with some news.

No, it doesn't over-heat alone

The device cannot overheat as it has protection to turn off to avoid hardware damage.

Okay, so I assume that 67 degrees Celsius is fine? And the heating is just ''normal'' heat? Also, the heating occurs very quickly, like after a minute or so of playing or recording video... Another thing I find disturbing is the smell... Does any other users have a similar smell with their Z2? I'm just asking myself if that's going to affect its durability.

Try this first:

Press and hold Power Button > Tap and Press "Power Off" > Restart in Safe Mode > Tap OK.

See if theres any difference.

Then to exit Safe Mode just restart your phone as usual.

67 degrees is way too hot. Mine tops at 50 degrees even after long online gaming(assume most power consuming app).

Before you actually send it to your local Sony Xperia, you should try repair your phone's software.

Download and Install Sony PC Companion >
Connect your phone to your PC > Press Software Update > There would be a blue line stating "Repair Software" > Tap Repair Software and wait.(It does use internet access)

See if theres any difference after that.
