sony xperia z1 screen coating

hello guys

I am writing to you because I have a problem. I have owned the Sony Xperia Z1 smartphone since it first came out and I love it so much, it‘s really great. It works fast, the battery life is really excellent and overall, I can’t see myself using another phone. This one has served me well and I want to keep it working. Last week, I purchased a screen protector to apply to the screen of my phone because I was worried that it might break. I had not removed the screen protector that came originally with the phone. The phone is still as it came from the factory. While cleaning my screen, with the dry cloth, I used a dust sticker to make sure the screen was squeaky clean before putting on my screen protector. I sticked the dust sticker to the screen, right next to the light sensor or proximity sensor, to the left of the earpiece and while I was removing the sticker, it peeled off something that was covering the screen. It looked like a the oleophobic coating came off and I am worried about my phone. does anyone know about the issue?

if i am not mistaken, there is a anti-shatter proof film provided, but this is actually part of the design since the sony branding is etch on the film itself and not on the phone screen. http://www.androidcentral.com/how-to-remove-sony-anti-shatter-film-xperia-screen-protector

i don't think it's the anti shatter film becuase from what i've seen, the anti-shatterfilm is like a screen protector, this is more like nail polish which is the best i can compare it to. i will follow a pic of the device i hope it helps. it is at the top of the phone. if anyone can help, i would be grateful. in the pic, it's the part that's peeled off. i don't know if you can tellPhoto 5-30-16, 8 48 02 AM.jpg

In Some regions, they place an additional screen protector on top of the anti shatter film ( since technically, the anti shatter films is part of the screen hardware)

however I would suggest you have your device checked at your local service center. http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/contactUs/

I see, but from what I could see , that "nail polish"effect you are showing is what happens when a screen protector comes off in the edges, more of like trapped air .you can try to test it yourself by prying it on the edges ( though not recommended unless you have replacement screen protector on hand)

first of all, thank you for all your replies nolramlb,

it does not look like trapped air and it is like there is something peeling off of the screen and this is only after i used the dust remover sticker that came with the screen protector, it TOOK off that part, it's like it ripped it off. and the part that's missing is nw glued to the dust sticker. moreover, i have tried and you can't grab this part that's ripped or lift it up even with a knife. also, i have already installed a screen protector over it. i've had screen protectors on the phone since the first day

come to think of it, can this "coating" have come what's left from an aftermarket screen protector that i've installed in the past and that hasn't fully come off when it was removing it? because currently, i'm on my third screen protector and i've always had one on since i bought the phone new when it forst came out
