Sony Xperia Z1 Compact-pop up messages

I brought my phone 2 weeks ago and have been experiencing daily pop ups from ppi to wining ipads. I also get taking to Google play without accessing the app and recieve random Google play pop ups to download new apps. I have tried everything in my settings to block this. I went to my network provider who in no uncertain terms told me they couldn't help. Can you advise?

That's an app acting up, uninstal all the third party apps and then install one by one

I have this too, mostly when I exit the browser an ad pops up

Just as uliwooly was saying these pop up/notification ads comes from a 3rd party app installed in your phone. 

Uninstall one at the time to until you find which app displaying the ads.
