Sony xperia z1 Compact Display Black/malfunction waterproof

Hallo there,

Got my z1 Compact about 1.5 montags ago. And Know my blood is boiling.
As in the commercials i wanted to Take Some underwater pictures from my whalewatching Trip on the Philippiners.
Still sceptic i Even Taped all possible areas where water could enter and yes i am Aware that the max.-depth Stated by Sony is 1-1.5 Meters ( 3-5.5 Ft). In fact we weren't Even allowed to Leave the boatside and descent for Even 1 Meter (3ft).
Know for the malfunction. Took a couple of pictures for a period of less than 10 minutes. Back on the boat, i carefully dried it with a Towel and wanted to Check out the Pics. But the Display remained Black. Even though the touchscreen still was functional, as i felt the Vibrations touching it. I checked the Slots for any Water, but they were dry.

So Tell me Sony, what went wrong????????????

It could have been that it was used in salt water whereas the IP rating is only for fresh water. However you would be best to speak with your local  Xperia Care team regarding having the handset assessed.
