Sony Xperia Z's Screen Showing a Red frame

Hi All,

First of all today is my 5th day with my New Sony Xperia Z, and i am loving the phone. To be honest this is my best phone so far. Trust me guys i used a Nokia 95 8GB almost 6 years back and after that HTC desire HD and the last one was a HTC one X. Even when i was using the HTC one X i use to consider the Nokia to be a better phone. But now the Sony Xpreia Z has taken that place.

Off resent i have noticed a red frame blinking on my phone every time I toggle between screens and some times when i press the awake button. I am not saying power on because this happens every time the screen is switched on. It keeps blinking, sometimes multiple times or it just comes ones for a fraction of a second and does not come back. I thought it must be a app that I downloaded, or a live wallpaper. so tried booting my phone after removing all the wallpapers which were downloaded from the play store. Yet the problem persists, Just to give more information, It looks like a frame since its only on the edges of the screen and its in Red blinks for a couple of seconds and that's it nothing much happens, nothing else has changed, during toggling screens and switching on the screen this happens. I know its not too much to worry about but would like to know the reason and if there is a solution.

I think you are correct, an app or screen saver or similar has corrupted something, do a repair via Pcc - backup your data first

Thank you for your reply. I did the repair however its just asked me to do a factory reset. So the cause of the problem was not revealed. Now i am trying to download the app's one at a time so i know the culprit.

One more thing, I am finding extremely difficult to restore my contacts, this is nothing like the One X, i had an app called Lookout and all my contacts were stored there, when i switched from HTC desire HD to One X, it worked without any issues. Now all my contacts have multiple entries on the XZ, when i go to search a contact to call someone all it does is show me a e-mail address and does not make a call. There are a few old contacts which don't appear. Is there any way i can manage my contacts? I don't mind doing it manually (maybe on the PC).
