Sony xperia tablet z2 repair

Hi, I have two questions which can be answered only by Sony employees. So first of all I need to know is display can be separated with digitizer glass which I broke? And second, what precisely name has FPC Flex Display cable which connected to display in Z2 tablet? I need a serial number or common name of that concrete model of cable because I need to change it for myself since there are no any adequte repair shop. Only here I can get help.

Hi @Lawgun,

The glass can be repaired, yes. Contact your local support team to arrange this. But I am afraid I am unable to answer the question about specific parts used in the device as we recommend you only have your device repaired by an authorised repair centre.

@Lawgun

I think the issues with your tablet might be more than the digitizer

It's not a problem anymore, after my PC tablet filled with water nothing helped so I decided to open it and broke the glass of course because in place around left speaker glue is far than in other places. After that PC tablet dried and just start working as usually and I tested it for sometime, but then display flex cable just burned. So the problem is only in flex cable and glass, screen is fine. Also authorised repairing here is totally insane, first of all they saying that glass can't be replaced, only display completely because "it's just impossible to change the glass only" they say and second - they want from me 80% of cost of new PC tablet for repairing. So no, I shall repair it for myself.

@Lawgun,

It's usually the case that they repair the broken glass on the device by replacing the whole screen component, due to the waterproof nature of the handset repairing the glass only is too difficult to do by hand. Unfortunately, I cannot officially advise anything else to you other than an authorised repair. Good luck.
