Sony Xperia L Power Button Not working

I had dropped my mobile 6 months back and it has small broken piece at the top. But past 10 days my mobile power button is not working & when i gave it for repair they are say that warranty will not be covered due to physical damage also they are telling that even the screen has to be replaced & they are estimating it to be 7000rs. I am not understanding why screen has to be replaced for problem in power button.

I got it repaired for just 140rs from local mobile shop. People sitting as service centers are just cheaters & nothing else.
