Sony Xperia Ion Glitches post ICS....

Hi everyone,

My wife and I both have the ION and we love the phone.  We both upgraded our phones and are noticing the same issues.  We have ringtones set up for certain contacts so that when the phone rings, a certain song will play.  Since the update this is hit or miss.  Sometimes it plays the ringtone we have saved to the contact, othertimes it plays the normal ringtone assigned to normal calls.

The next issue stems with Bluetooth Voice Dialing.  While on gingerbread, I cannot recall ever once saying "Call Charles on mobile" and having the phone say "Calling Veronica on Home."  This is what has been happening ever since the update, its about 15% accurate on who the phone calls over the voice calling.  This is a huge drawback especially during driving and I have been calling people like my boss and people I havent spoken to for a long time by accident. Even if you try to hang up immediately, it will still show a missed call on their phones.  I really hope Sony looks into these issues or gives users a way to revert back to gingerbread where I had zero issues.  Thanks

Sounds strange this is the first time I hear about this for Xperia ion.

Have you tried to reinstall the phone software in any of the phones? You can do that by using SUS.

Please let me know if any problem remains after this. In that case I might have to forward this for investigation.

I have the newest 28i firmware, and I also have the ringtone issue...and, come to think of it, my x10 did this too (on 2.3.3).is there an easy way to do the repair where I don't have to re-download and configure all my apps?

I'm sorry,I was delinquent in answering....here is a real answer that works every time: root, then make the tones into .ogg files (the native format in the Google os), then copy them to the same folder as the sound files that come with the phone. Since I did that my tones have always worked perfectly...and no repairing necessary.
