There was a reason doing this. SOD is much worse than just removing this feature. There is high chance this feature will be back once sod issue would be investigated and 100% resolved, until that moment it's better to have this feature disabled and to have device in fully operational state

From my experience at 1.532 firmware, SOD is mainly cause by the Optimized Backlight being turn off.  It also cause long boot up if that is Off. Since then i keep it on.  if the new firmware not yet address the problem.  Having that option there is also make no difference since Off it will not help but make device unstable.

My opinion, usable has to be the priority. I believe they working hard on this and will fix it in the near future.  If not, i will lose fate and go back to samsung on my next phone.

yes, its better to not have the feature than it causing the SOD issue.

Hi,

I am wonder what you mean by "changing the back light on its own in order to save battery". Is it possible you refer to Brightness's adapt to lighting conditions option in Setting->Display->Brightness?

You can turn off that option to make sure the brightness wont change follow the lightning condition arround you.

I do trying to find out the difference between Optimized backlight On/Off before. But it is really hard to see the difference.  May be you can show me where/how can i see the difference.

It means when the screen have bright colors such as white color the display will be too bright but when u go to black screen the light will be dimed and this is so annoying when watching movies because movies tend to have more dark scene than everything else so in the end u will lose some details in dark areas.

That problem may be due to lower contrast level by their display. Even off that option. Dark area detail also not show much.
