Sony replaced my Z3 display screen with AMOLED one and not with default IPS

My display was replaced by Sony. But the new replacement display doesnt look like ORIGINAL IPS ones which I had prior to replacement.:smileyshocked:

This new one looks Matte finish type while the one I had earlier was Glossy.

I can easily make it out as the regular HD wallpapers which I applied on old and new display looks different on same brightness settings.

Or is it so that the new display batch is improved etc. Or is it just that lollipop displays this way???

I came across This Thread and somebody mentioned that Sony replaced his Z3 IPS screen with AMOLED.....:smileyshocked:

I'm feeling like off!!!

Calling all members here to check the quality of their Z3 if its IPS or AMOLED. And report here if you ever find any difference between your oriignal display and the new replaced ones.

You would need to either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care and let them know of your dissatisfaction http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

Will do that but what you have to say on this?

On a replaced screen can their be minor differences in color reproduction??

We aren't Sony so can't comment and because this is the 1st I've heard of this then I would just be speculating

It could be a different vendor - I think Sony use panels from both JDI (in which they hold a stake) and Sharp. I'm not sure if there are more vendors involved.

Also make sure that there isn't a protective film left on the glass. While that film is often obvious because it's matte enough to dim and blur the screen, it's possible they might have used a thinner and/or less matte protective film on some batches, making it seem part of the display.
