Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro MK16i Latest Update Is Very Laggy (ICS 4.0.4)

I've this problems on Xperia Pro ICS 4.0.4:

- Very laggy menu and homescreen slide animation

- Not smooth kinetic scrool

- Camera video recorder is too laggy

- All 2D games as Angry Birds as are not playing smoothly

- All 3D games have a big RAM problem.

I've tested ICS with factory settings and cleaned SD card. Also wiped all data. Same problems appeared.

I've also Class 10 SD card.

All of these problems fixing when i use Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.

To Sony: Please make a hotfix or update to fix all of these problems. We are hate our device with ICS update Slightly_frowning_Face

Hi, all. Sorry for my English, I'm from Ukraine.

I update to ICS 4.0.4 and also have problem with azerty-keyboard instead of qwerty.

I found solution, but it need root:

  • With Root Explorer or another filemanager open /system/usr/keyboard-config/keyprint.xml. There will be text like this:

Guys, I've juz updated to 4.1.B ics 4.0.4. Seems like lag for new applications. Esp. Dialer. Met some new friends and was trying to add their new numbers. Still loading dialer after 10 seconds. Eventually, they got tired of waiting and instead gave me a miss called. Lol.

I notice that if i got some memory intensive programs in background like timescape or facebook, it'll take even longer. So, do end these tasks by holding the home key and swiping them off. Then firing dialer is slightly quicker. You can shave off a couple of seconds in loading time. Fyi, my contacts are all under google account, so it can sync as backup. Not sure if your contacts are under phone, loading time of dialer maybe quicker.

Hey guys, I found a super quick work around that helps in launching all any apps, including dialer! It seems to reduce the lag to 3-5 seconds. Not too bad, I would say.

Just go to Context Menu > Settings > Developer options > set "Backround process limit“ to 3-4 processes !!!

I've set the option to 4 and it seems to perform great. Especially any active apps in the foreground. Do note that this settings will be reseted if you restart your phone!!!

Overall, a better ICS experience!!! Do feedback on this options!

Cheers!

memory management for xperia pro ics is still poor, tends to slow down a lot once i open the internet browser. so i always close all the browser windows whenever i'm not surfing to clear up some ram. also i have to turn off the google location service whenever i don't use it as it also creates lots of processes. also took off a lots of widgets so it won't eat up the RAM. Sometimes if i left all these processes on my xperia pro would freeze till reboots. So in sumary, to use ics on xperia pro, gotta run light otherwise just stick to GB.

ok. according to my experience of flashing at least 10 times. flash or update ur device to ics by pc companion and turn on ur xperia , complete set up. now turn off the device. take out battery, sim, sd card for minutes. and again turn it on. ur ics should be smooth now . not as gb but feels smooth. keep in mind dont disable any app in application settings. i repeat dont disable any app. u will lose smoothness. it just happened with my pro. u can uninstall apps which has option to be uninstalled.hope it helps. sorry for my english...
