Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro Suddenly Stops Charging

Hi, I wanna know what happened to my phone.

I downloaded a game. It caused my phone to hang. Had to remove the battery. And because it was nearing battery low, I decided to charge it before turning it on again. I left it charging for 2 hours but it only displayed 50%. I transferred it to PC but instead, it shut down displaying empty battery. Now, it doesn't charge.

How am I gonna fix this? Thanks.

Do you get any response from the phone whilst charging such as the LED light etc?

Initially, there was led light. When I transferred it to PC, the orange light became red. Instead of charging it, it drained the battery (very fast, only minutes). Now, there isn't led light. Home Screen displays charging. But when I went to settings/battery, it is discharging. I use other brands of charger but no use. I had to remove the battery to charge it by a different battery charger. I was able to reinstall the phone through computer but it was still the same.

If it is the usb port, then why can my computer recognize it? What happened to my phone? I did not encounter battery problems before, only now. I hope the problem is only my battery. There is no service center in my area. Please be frank if the hardware is the problem. Thanks.

Hey, why not answering? Last time, you also didn't.

It is worth running a software repair if the PC will see it to either solve the issue or at least rule out a software issue:

To repair the phone software
1.     Install PC Companion on a Windows PC from Support
2.     In PC Companion, under Support Zone and click Start.
3.     Under Phone Software Update, click Start.
4.     Click repair phone.
5.     Follow the on-screen instructions.

I have already done that but it did not work. I also tried the sus, also, it did not work.

Then unfortunately the only option left is to return the phone so that it may be assessed by an authorised agent.

Hi, I'm glad to tell you that my phone is back to normal. Remember the game that I downloaded? I was not able to uninstall it because I directly reinstalled my phone. I downloaded it again, just to know if it would hang again. Yes, it happened and 14% of the battery remained - from 62%. I uninstalled the game, cleared everything. I tried to charge the phone again and noticed that the led light appeared. I went to settings/battery and I saw the word "charging."

I'm happy I don't have to bring it to the service center because it means that my phone will be away for 3 mos. I badly need a phone. I just hope that the performance of the battery won't be affected having it charged to an external device.

I wonder why uninstalling the said application fixed the problem while reinstalling the software which erase everything on the phone didn't. Anyway, thanks for answering my questions.
