Sony Ericsson WT19i Android Walkman Phone keeps restarting

Hi, i recently bought a new Sony Ericsson WT19i Android Walkman phone from Dubai. I started using the phone in Bangalore, India sice last 5 days. The phone has been continuously restarting automatically when kept idle or shuts down while talking on the phone. Is viited a Sony Ericsson authorised service center to get this fixed. I came to know that the warranty is invalid in India & i will have to pay for the service. When i gave it for checking the issue, the service engineer returned saying it has been Purchased from Abroad, if the software is installed the network would get locked. He also mentioned that the software varies from country to country which was surprisng to hear. My provblem remains same & I pretty upset that my new phone is not working.

Can anyone suggest a solution for this please. Thanks-Prasanna.

I dont know whether this really represents the Manufacturing week or not, mine is 11W38.

SD Card: Total Space- 1.81GB, Available Space 238MB. Internal Storage-300MB.

Haven't installed anything new in this phone. To do so, the phone should respond without getting itself switched off..

I tried to update the software. Its now with 4.0.2.A.0.58 with Kernel version of 2.6.32.9-pref. Did a master reset. All for no use.. Have been regretting as to why i bought this piece.. :smileyangry:.. My gift to wife has turned awefull..:smileysad: Had to go for a Samsung Galaxy.

hi, every body. i got the same problem too. I'm from indonesia. i bought WT19i a weeks ago. and i took it to the service centre twice. first time, they upgraded it, but the phone keep restarting. so i brought to ther service centre for the second time. they said, maybe it's the LCD which the problem comes. so they said it will takes 3 weeks to finish. and it means " I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW SONY ERICSSON WT19i, AND I GOT NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS!". I CAN'T USE MY PHONE SINCE THE FIRST TIME I BOUGHT IT. SONY ERICSSON JUST GAVE ME A PIECE OF JUNK !. I REALLY DISAPPOINTED!

Without solutions, I'll exchange it for another brand

I have the same problem too.

In addition I cannot see my contacts.

I'm still trying to reboot and install software again.

WT19i is completely useless with that constant problem

It's so annoying and disappointing that SE cannot inform about the cause and solution.

How will we trust SE again?

hi

i have the same problem, just one day after i bought the WT19i, it shut down automically,  i could only get a new battery from the retailer cause i have not kept the packaging required, the problem seem to be solved but happen again just a few days later,i update the software and reset everything, the phone worked for a few days and the problem remains, could the SE people admit there is some default in some unit and an update in the future will solve the problem, or we need to bring the phone to SE for some HW repair.

Strange thing is it seems SE considers this issue as "assumed answered", but in fact there are lots of people like me who has paid for but unfortunately cannot use this phone.

None of us even received a satisfactory answer or information from SE.

so what are we supposed to do? get rid of this phone and tell as much as we can to not buy any SE smartphone?

I hope SE takes "customer service and satisfaction" as a serious task.

can u monitor few days, if the phone is still not keep restart, please tell me ya.

ahaha, i also using a old SIM card, very old..

how are the other ppl? u all using how many K sim card?

got 32k, 64k..
