Sony EQ does not work with Google Play music

..neither with Youtube or any other app... Only with Sony walkman app, Seriously? I can't even use the stock android EQ because the sony crap overrides it. Now I can't use EQ presets for car or headphones, makes this thing pretty much useless for my use..

Please fix this with an update or at least provide an option to use another EQ. None of the 3rd party EQ's form google play store work either because sony sound enchancement overrides them.

I surely hope this isn't an attempt to force users to use Sony walkman app for music listening, we should have the choice, right?

We got this issue reported from another user and i have already escalated this internally. I will update this thread as soon as i have any news.

Uh, sorry about the foul language. Unfortunately can't seem to edit the post later..

Glad the problem has been noted and hopefully there will be a fix in a future update. I think the sony enhancements in itself are ok if I only could use them in other apps too, so if that can be fixed would be perfectly fine with me.

I just got information that this is fixed in the next software update for the phone. The update should be available within 1-2 months.

Actually this was once working for me but then stopped working after update to 4.3

In the Z1 the EQ will not work with 3:rd party apps when you update to the latest software (.136) but it will be fixed in the next version.

As per subject, users with14.2.A.1.36, please check if equalizer is working with play music, youtube and other non-sony apps.

This seems to be a bug in the latest 14.2.A.1.136 release.

A confirmation from Sony would be very much appreciated.

I just installed the .142 update.

Sadly, it still appears that the only app benefiting from sound enhancements/eq is still the Walkman app.

Not working for Spotify or Music unlimited.

This is not good. Does "the next software update" mean kitkat update afterall?

Sony reps, answers please.

I can confirm this, after the latest update still won't work with play music. Kind of funny though, if it doesn't work even with music unlimited, which is sonys service??
