Sony: do something about it! large apps cannot be moved to sd card

It's a shame that even with the newest firmware Sony doesn't make you able to move apps and its sources to an sd card. I have a payed app for a scientific magazine. All magazines I download with the app are saved on the internal memory. Nonsense. My memory is getting full, moving to the sd card means the app cant find the magazines.

This is really old school.

Sony, it's really making your tablets worthless. My next tablet won't be a Sony if you don't change your firmware!

All other mobile devices in our household are able to, why doesn't the Sony?????

The problem at this minute is that the Google KitKat software update eliminated the majority of uses you describe for the SD Card.  They justified it as a "security issue".   I am betting that your other devices are not using KitKat operating OS.

On my S2 smartphone I have been using Cyanogenmod CM11 kitkat starting with 4.4.2 and know 4.4.4. I was always able to move app to the sdcard...... I know that Sony are getting this back on future updates.....

Well, using a custom rom like Cyanogenmod is not quite the same as requiring Sony to do it.  Sony seems to be going lock-step with Google.  However,  as you have done with your S2, rooting is not that hard as it once was.

My Sony Xperia Tablet has Android 4.4.2.

My Samsung Galaxy S4 phone had Android 4.4.2

It's the same operating system!

On my Samsung phone I can move apps from my phone to my sd card.

So it must be a problem of Sony, not a problem of the operating system.

An app to move apps to sd card signals that the app gives permission to be moved in general, but there's no choice of doing it on the tablet. Where there's an option to click on 'move to sd card' in the Samsung phone, this option is not available in the Sony tablet.

As I told, I have an app for a scientific magazine with large files, which can't be moved to the sd card. And that is a problem.

I state: it's a problem from Sony, not Android. So Sony, do something about it!
