Hi,
I was suffering with same battery drain problem till yesterday but now I have got a solution to make phone faster after ICS update.
1) Take backup of contacts, messages and other valuable data as this will format your phone.
2) After installing ICS once.
3) Connect phone to PC via USB to pc companion.
4) Click Support zone.
5) Now click start button on Phone software update. click on repair phone link.
6) Follow steps mentioned on screen and click next, next, next ... till your phone get updated with new software.
NOTE : keep backup of contacts, messages as this will format your phone.
I did same steps yesterday and now feeling much better with ICS. battery backup has lot more improved. (Now backup is > 24 hrs with all time 3G data ON.)
REASON : Since sony has just updated your old OS with new OS. This was not fresh install. This was making some uncompatible changes which slowed down performance and sucked the battery. This will get resolved by installing fresh OS files.
You will feel much much better after following these steps..
Let me know if this helps you..

does that work with Neo V ?
many users did the same and still not satisfied...
could you please confirm...mine is Neo V
but it still does not solve
for example:
mono padding video (20 FPS)
Want to dial a number you have to wait about 5 seconds in order to get into dial
it takes that long even if you empty the call logs?
It seems cool as soon as a Sony guy will confirm that repair phone link in PC Companion software proceeds a fresh install algorithm.
How do you know what repair phone link does to the phone?
I will do this if its given the official nod as the right thing to do,or if they send a patch,i just want my wifi to go back to normal :smileycry:.
Other than i this and choppy video,no significant issues to report.
Also i preferred the older Gb way of how exiting an app with back key killed it,i dont want apps to start hogging the ram there is.
yup, the lag in opening the dialer is very annoying.
WIll this repair procedure also remove all installed applications? I installed many applications, but mainly are stored in the SD Card (linked using Link2SD).
The SD card will remain unaffected..but everything in the phone memory will be deleted..
And about the apps, I think there are some files in phone memory even if you move them to SD card...
If it is so then the apps wil not work after the repair, you will need to install them fresh..
dude this actually works........much happier with ics now.....was thinking of going back to GB but as of now i m quite happy with......the minor lags r gone....its smooth as gb.....only the dialler is still taking around 3-4 secs to come up.......nd having probs with few apps(thats not sony's fault......google is at fault there)
