Software Update - unable to download - not enough space!

I cannot download the latest software update, because I do not have enough free memory.  I have taken off all the apps I can THAT I DO NOT NEED and only left the ones I use regularly (Spotify, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc) and STILL there is not enough space.  What can I do?  I have moved everything I can over to my SD card and STILL I am being told to make more space available.  If I take everything off this phone to make the space available, it's just going to be a phone with software updates on it and none of the actual apps that I want to use.  Please help!

Settings > apps > all > wait > wait > sort by size > wait > wait > tap on the top 10 > clear cache > uninstall updates > restart the phone

also, transfer your pictures, videos, music to the SD card.

DCIM > 100Andro and Xperia .

Thanks!  This has helped a bit (I've already been storing photos and things on my SD card) but I'm still finding myself with 200MB short of the space I need to update the flippin' software!  I've moved as many apps as is possible to, over to the SD card (except Facebook, which keeps deleting itself as soon as you try to move it to the SD card) and I'm still short of space.  Save from deleting all of the apps that I actually use, I'm out of solutions!  Slightly_frowning_Face

Hi @Lauren3110

You can also set with the Android adb, to store apps in the SD Card intead of the internal memory.

You should have ADB installed, the SDK up to date, and the USB debugging turned on from your device on the Developer Options. Then plug your Xperia to your computer and from a command prompt (you'll probably have to be in the folder where adb.exe is, most likely something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools\adb.exe) run this command:

adb shell pm setInstallLocation 2 (where 0 represents the internal storage and 2 represents the SD Card storage).

To clear warnings about the available memory space on your device you can run:

adb shell pm hide com.sonymobile.storagechecker

I hope can be useful.

This sounds really interesting. Can someone explain about installing adb, and what SDK to use, as well as where to download it.

Thanks
