Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
The reason that you're not receiving messages may be that the sender is using iMessage on his iPhone,
and not the regular text messaging or multimedia messaging (MMS) services over the mobile network.
Non-iPhone devices can’t receive iMessages, so if you no longer use an iPhone, you need to deactivate iMessage.
This lets your friends’ iPhones know to send you messages via text messaging or multimedia messaging
(MMS) services instead.
If you have access to your iPhone
To disable iMessage on an iPhone
Note! If you’ve got other Apple devices (an iPad, iPod touch or Mac for example) registered
to the same Apple ID as your phone, you’ll need to deactivate iMessage on all of them.
Otherwise your messages will continue to go to your Apple ID instead of your new phone.
Follow the steps below if you’re not sure how to do this.
If you don’t have access to your iPhone
To disable iMessage using apple.com
Note! If you’ve got any other iMessage-capable devices registered to the same Apple ID that
you no longer have access to, unregister these now.
Note! By unregistering your iPhone from your Apple ID through the Apple site, it won’t have
access to the App Store or content you’ve purchased unless your re-register it.
