Sms chat lag android 5.0

After update to lollipop sms chat lags to open and lags while scrolling. At kitkat android version, everything was smooth even with much more sms in chat.

I too have this issue as animations are stuttering sometimes, even when opening a keyboard. 
It is now always but happens hmm. 

And yes, my messaging app is load with lot of chats as it was on 4.4
It would be nice to add Search feature to this app!

Lag in messaging is alot.. Specially in chats.. Even after clear data and delete all messages

Well it seems like the google messaging app works much better. So this is realy the stock app issue. Maybe its chat background image, slowing app down? 

BUT google messaging app does not show number of unreaded messages...

But why there is no number, showing how much unreaded messages i have ? And I realy hope, some day all apps going to have light and dark theme..
