Hello
I bought my sony xperia sola last week. I worked with the old operating system (Android 2.3.4) for just one day before updating to ICS.
But I found out that there were problems between the two operating systems.
The biggest problem for me that affects me daily, is that with Android 2.3.4 I could write sms in Greek with 160 characters, now after updating into ICS I can write only 72 characters. I used the Gesture function in both os.There is no problem using the English Language when wiriting sms.
I had never in the past similar problems with my former sony ericsson mobile phones (K750, C905, Xperia X10) and neither did I have problems for the one day I used xperia sola with Android 2.3.4.
So I believe that it has something to do with the update.
The second is that before updating I could use the handsfree set from my Xperia X10 without any problem but know after the update I get a message that says that the handsfree set is not supported.
I think that the programmers in Sony make one step forward and two steps back.
How can they destroy things, that worked in the past?

What happens if you type more than 72 characters? Do the phone inform you that the message will be sent as two messages?
Please share more info about this handsfree set of yours. Which model is it?
When I write more than 72 characters a message appears that informs me that the message will be sent as 2 sms.
About the handsfree it is the MH500 model the one that accompanies the Xperia X10 device.
I checked but I wasn't able to replicate any of these two issues so therefore I suggest that you reinstall the phone software using SUS and check if they remain in your device.

Let me know if any problem remain.
Dear Johan
I re-installed the phone but the problems still remain. I recalled that I had the same problem with the message when I had the Sony Ericsson T029 device (a very old one). Nut I thing it had to do with T9 issues.
I want to mention another thing. Before I re-installed my phone I made a backup. But when I restored the backup I realised that the events in my calender were gone.
In that case I suggest that you have you phone examined at an repair center. Contact your local support team for more info.

If your calendar posts were synced they can't be backed up, so check if you might have them on Gmail or some other sync service.
