SmartWatch3 GPS problem

Hi

I received my SW3 yesterday, and today I would take it for a run without my phone. When I started the Endomondo app the GPS icon whould switch between ? and X and only when I connected it to the phone would it be ready with my position.

I did put it outside for almost 10 min. with the endomondo app running, but no change. Do I need to enable the GPS manually somehow on the watch?

Bonus info, yesterday when I got the watch I installed Sony's sync software and searched for updates for my watch. It did not find any updates, but it asked if I would reinstall the same version, which I for some reason did. I was thinking that the latest GPS coordinates it uses is from what is stored in the update... So maybe it thinks it in the US or another country away from Denmark? And therefore would take some time to figure out where it is.

I will continue try to use the GPS and hopes that it comes to the correct position. But until then (if ever) do any of you know of any tweaks that could help?

I'm interested to know where did you find info that Endomondo should work with SW3's built-in GPS? If it should, i could try it too. I thought it can only control phone's Endomondo app and therefore can use only phone's GPS just like Runtastic Pro does, but do correct me if i'm wrong. I've been using Runtastic Pro for a long time now and it works with SW3 also, but only as a remote control for phone app and that's how i was using it with SW2 too. SW2 version was better though, because you could see more info on it, including heart rate.

I think only app at the moment working independently in watch, is My Tracks by google. Sony's Lifelog should work too, but that's whole another story: /t5/SmartWatch-3/SmartWatch-3-and-Lifelog-and-Walkman/m-p/871737#U871737.

And what exactly is this "Sony's sync software" you are referring to?

Thank you for your response.

I cannot log in with my original account and could not get my password recovered easily...
I came to the same resolution that you described. Endomondo don't support GPS on the watch at the moment, and I've only found My Tracks to use GPS from the watch.

The sync software is the official software you can download from Sony to sync and update Xperia and other Sony devices.
